Cookie Policy
Last updated: 30 April 2026
This page lists every cookie TheOnlineCalendar may set on your device, who sets it, what it does, and how long it lasts.
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, measure traffic, and (in the future) deliver advertising. We never sell personal data, never use cookies that fingerprint you across other sites, and never embed social-media widgets that track you. Cookies that are not strictly necessary load only after you grant consent via the banner that appears on first visit.
What cookies we may set
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Retention | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| toc.consent.v1 | TheOnlineCalendar | Stores your cookie-consent choice (granted / denied) so the consent banner doesn't reappear on every visit. | Until you clear browser storage | Strictly necessary |
| _ga | Google Analytics (G-X7TPLLY6PT) | Distinguishes unique visitors. Set only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner. | 2 years | Analytics (consent required) |
| _ga_X7TPLLY6PT | Google Analytics | Persists session state for the GA4 property. Set only after you accept analytics. | 2 years | Analytics (consent required) |
| _gid | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique visitors over a 24-hour window. | 24 hours | Analytics (consent required) |
Cookieless tracking we run
Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights collect aggregate pageview counts and Core Web Vitals samples without setting cookies and without identifying you personally. Both run regardless of cookie consent and are exempt from the GDPR consent requirement under the "strictly necessary" or "legitimate interest" categories.
Consent Mode v2
We use Google's Consent Mode v2 framework. On your first visit, all advertising and analytics cookies are denied by default. Google Analytics still loads but operates in cookieless mode — anonymous pings are sent to Google with no _ga cookie. When you accept analytics via the banner, GA4 starts setting its full cookie suite. When you reject, the cookieless mode continues.
How to control cookies
- Re-open the consent bannerat any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
- Browser settings — every modern browser lets you block, restrict, or delete cookies. Chrome · Firefox · Safari · Edge.
- Google Analytics opt-out— install Google's official browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Your rights
See the Privacy Policy for the full description of your rights to access, delete, restrict, or port the data we hold about you under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws.
Changes to this policy
If we add or change a cookie, we update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes (a new cookie category, a new third-party processor) are communicated via the consent banner re-appearing on your next visit.
