Holidays here include a mix of fixed dates (such as New Year's Day and national independence days) and variable dates (such as religious holidays that follow lunar or ecclesiastical calendars). Variable holidays may shift by 1–2 days from year to year.
Spain caps national holidays at 14 per year, several of them set regionally. When one falls on a Sunday, regions may move it to the following Monday, and different regions make different choices, so the calendar genuinely differs between, say, Madrid and Catalonia.
